Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts
Try this recipe to make glazed American-style doughnuts that the kids really love!
All you need
2 sachets al alali Instant Yeast
3 tbsps. warm water
350 ml warm milk prepared from al alali full Cream Milk Powder
100g caster sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
150g butter
625g plain flour
250g al alali Icing Sugar
1½ tsps. al alali Vanilla Powde
r4 tbsps. hot water
1 liter vegetable oil
Directions
- Add al alali Instant Yeast to warm water, let stand for 5 minutes or until yeast start foaming
- In a large bowl, add yeast mixture, milk, sugar, salt, eggs, 1/2 of the butter and 1/2 of the flour
- Add remaining flour and mix for about 5 minutes, until dough smoothens
- Place dough in a greased bowl, set aside in a warm place to expand up to double its size
- Place dough on a floured surface and roll to 1 cm thickness. Cut doughnut shapes from the dough with a doughnut cutter
- Cover loosely with a cloth, allow doughnuts to stand and become double in size
- In a saucepan, melt the remaining butter, add al alali Icing Sugar and Vanilla Powder. Set aside
- Add hot water slowly until icing becomes thinner
- In a deep pan, heat oil, fry the doughnuts on each side until golden brown color. Drain on a wire rack, dip into the glaze while they are still hot. Allow to cool
- Serve and enjoy!
